Executive Vice President, Procurement & Project Management, Chief Procurement Officer

As Executive Vice President of Procurement, Shahid is responsible for developing and deploying end-to-end supply chain solutions across the entire hotel life cycle. Shahid leads innovation across the supply chain, building on data analytics to drive insights and leveraging procurement technology platform and expansive buying power to generate optimal value and efficiencies for hotel owners and investors.

His responsibilities include client facing procurement strategy and sourcing to support day-to-day hotel operations, managing Aimbridge’s differentiated capabilities in hospitality procurement of FF&E and OS&E, and overseeing project management for hotel renovations, brand conversations and new construction. He also oversees the execution of Property Improvement Plans (PIP) and all elements of capital budgeting, planning and implementation. In addition, Shahid oversees Indirect Procurement to manage Aimbridge corporate’s sourcing and procurement needs.

With over 25 years of procurement leadership and supply chain expertise across multiple industries and geographies, Shahid most recently served as Chief Procurement Officer at TIAA. Prior to that he was JLL’s Global Chief Procurement Officer, transforming the global sourcing and procurement function with a combined purchasing power of over $30 billion, implementing category management and utilizing data analytics and technology-based solutions for the commercial real estate services firm. Shahid was BP’s Chief Procurement Officer for the U.S. onshore business, managing a multi-billion dollar annual third party spend. He successfully created category strategies, conducted strategic sourcing, and embedded supplier relationship management. He has also spent time with an internet start-up establishing procurement consortium, and with a management consulting firm advising clients on procurement strategy and transformation.

Shahid graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and holds an MBA and MS in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University.

David M. Breeding, AIA is Senior Vice President, Project & Development Services where he is responsible for providing all aspects of Project Management services to hotel owners, including project planning, technical services advisory, PIPs/renovations, and budgeted/emergency capital management. Furthermore, David's responsibilities include design and construction, capital planning and budgeting, project execution and monitoring, sourcing and contracting, and project closeout.

David came to Aimbridge with extensive experience in hotel design and construction. He was most recently a Southeast Regional Hospitality Practice Area Leader with Gensler. Prior to Gensler he was VP of Architecture and Design for IHG where he led teams providing prototype designs, property improvement plans, new & renovation construction, and CAPEX. He was VP of Design and Construction for Prism Hotels & Resorts, VP of Construction for Remington Hotels, VP for WCI Communities, and VP of Design and Construction for Gaylord Entertainment.

David received his Masters of Architecture from University of Texas at Arlington and is a registered architect in Florida and Texas.

Chris Fruth is responsible for leading a team of project purchasing professionals, managing hotel FF&E and OS&E projects including new build, renovation and brand conversions. Chris was instrumental in building Jaguar Hospitality Services, acquired by Aimbridge in 2021, to a leading and trusted project procurement firm in the industry. He continues to lead the team of Purchasing Agents and Coordinators to ensure on time and on budget completion.

Chris was co-leader of Jaguar Hospitality Services, which managed over $100MM annually in project spend. Now leveraging Aimbridge’s purchasing power and spend, the combined effort brings both savings and superior service to any sized project.

Chris is a graduate of University of Texas at Austin, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

Jacob is responsible for solutions development, sales support and pursuits. Jacob collaborates with the Aimbridge Business Development team on new pursuits selling all Procurement and Project Management services ranging from project planning, project management and project procurement to capital management/purchasing, pre-opening/transitions and strategic sourcing/operations supply. He also works closely with Aimbridge Operations leveraging our relationship with existing ownership groups and upselling additional services to existing to existing hotel properties. Previously, Jacob built and co-led Jaguar Hospitality Services, growing organically by its superior service, repeat customers and client referrals.

Jacob has proven success in streamlining the project purchasing process from budget creation to project closeout, spear heading the creation of a proprietary procurement management system that has given his teams an intuitive process for managing FF&E and OS&E Projects.

Tom Jaeger, Senior Vice President, Category Management on the Procurement team is responsible for spend activities on behalf of hotel owners, properties, and corporate functions. He oversees Category Management for food and beverage, guest room supplies, soft and hard services, FF&E/OS&E, capital, and corporate indirect procurement, as well as Operational Procurement supporting day-to-day hotel operations, and Transitions. Tom is also responsible for driving the ESG agenda across the supply chain, leveraging the capabilities of our strategic suppliers.

As SVP of Category Management, Tom will further elevate our Procurement platform, building upon the remarkable work the team has already done; leveraging Aimbridge’s purchasing power and deep supplier relationships to deliver enhanced value to hotel owners. He will also impact the supplier diversity and sustainability goals for the ownership groups and for Aimbridge.

Tom joined Aimbridge from JLL where he served as Executive Director, Supplier Management & Organization Transformation. Prior to that, he had a long-standing career at BP where he gained extensive experience in Strategic Sourcing & Category Management in progressively larger leadership roles.

Tom received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the University of Houston.

Prior to joining Jaguar, she held numerous senior level positions with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and Accor Hotels. She has managed the project team of purchasing agents for Jaguar Hospitality Services for 5 years. She has overseen projects ranging from 2 MM spend to 20 MM spend.
