For the past forty years, Gerard Hegner has had hands-on experience in the development of hundreds of hotel and casino projects across the country for some of the nation’s top hospitality companies. His past experiences and successful accomplishments in hospitality/casino design, development, procurement and construction make him a valued advisor to our owners in connection with their ongoing development and renovation projects.
As an accomplished hospitality industry veteran, Gerard has held senior staff positions with CNL Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham International, Harrah’s Entertainment, Promus Companies and Holiday Inns, Inc. Much of his career as an owner’s representative has been centered on leading the planning, design and execution of the corporation’s most challenging projects, successfully achieving the project’s financial objectives and ensuring the customer consistently receives a quality experience.
As Vice President Design & Construction for Wyndham International he led efforts to establish and execute the design and construction program required to support the company’s aggressive growth initiative. He was responsible for developing Wyndham’s Design & Construction Standards followed by the development of the company’s first prototypical hotel design. As Director Design & Construction for Harrah’s he successfully planned, managed and executed the buy-out of the interior fit-out construction and the procurement of all owner supplied items for twelve (12) new Harrah’s casino projects in a four (4) year time frame at an average cost ranging from $100 to $400 million per project. Director of Design for Holiday Corporation, in a division of 300 D&C employees, he directed a staff of 30 design professionals to design and deliver over 12 new Crowne Plaza hotels, working with some of the country’s top demanding developers – Tishman, Zechendorf, Canazaro, and Hunt.
Gerard has a bachelor's of science degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati which is one of the top five accredited schools of architecture in the country.
